Job SummaryRetail Transaction Business Analyst supports the
ecommerce related activities of the Company that are required to
support retail deregulation. This includes customer enrollment,
usage, billing and service order transactions between the Company
and Competitive Retailers/ERCOT. Essential Functions
- Analyzes and evaluates transactions in order to comply with
deregulation market rules and has working knowledge of the Texas
deregulated market and ERCOT.
- Performs daily reconciliation of transactions flowing through
Company systems, identifies and tracks discrepancies, and initiates
manual data/transaction repairs when necessary.
- Analyzes all reports relating to assigned focus area (e.g.,
enrollment, billing and usage, etc.) to investigate issues and
prevent issues from occurring.
- Writes and manipulates SQL scripts to research transaction
processing and failures.
- Works with other business areas and IT to re-submit issuing or
failed transactions.
- Ensures all work items are understood, routed and/or resolved
until the work item is closed.
- Resolves issues or questions regarding transactions on an ad
hoc basis. Job duties involve some innovation and analysis to
resolve problems.
- Works with subject matter experts and other teams when trying
to resolve difficult work items.
- Fulfills inquiry requests from internal and external parties
(e.g., Competitive Retailers, PUCT).
- Communicates status to supervisor as requested.
- Participates on projects in a supporting role including
documentation of requirements, translate requirements into proper
system requirement specifications including functional design, and
writing use cases, business and functional detail design
requirements and test scripts involved in testing of system
changes, including: System Integration Testing, User Acceptance
Testing, Performance Testing, Regression Testing, Production
Verification, Defect Tracking, and ERCOT Market Testing.
- Creates test scenarios and test scripts for end-to-end testing
of changes across multiple systems, for use in both manual and
automated testing.
- Executes both manual and automated test scripts within
different system environments.
- Participates in environment shake-outs, smoke testing, and data
cleansing using automated testing software and quality assurance
reviews. Education Description
- Requires a Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or
university or at least four years of work experience in the TX
Retail Electric Market. Experience
- Requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience demonstrating
knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures related to
