Position Description:Our client is a mid-sized 3PL providing
valued-added warehousing and transportation services from a
nationwide network of 33 facilities in 20 states covering the
Midwest, South, Southeast, and West. The company has established
customers in the Industrial, Food & Beverage, Agriculture, and
Healthcare industries.
The Sales Account Executive will conduct lead generation and direct
sales for business development in the Houston area for 3PL
distribution and trucking services, especially warehouse
fulfillment, value-added assembly and packaging, manufacturing
replenishment, and export crating, as well as domestic truckload
and shuttle, final-mile and white-glove delivery, and port
services. Qualified candidates should have prior
business-to-business sales experience, preferably in 3PL
warehousing services. This role requires local and regional
travel.Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct direct sales to generate new business for 3PL
warehousing and transportation services in key customer verticals,
including Industrial, Food & Beverage, Agriculture, and Healthcare
industries.
- Identify and call-on prospective customers in the Houston
TX.Develop and manage the sales pipeline required to meet the
annual new business and client retention goals.
- Utilize a consultative sales approach to discover customer
needs and develop 3PL solutions options.
- Collaborate with internal resources and directly manage the
sales process, including lead generation and qualification, contact
management, proposal development and RFP response, presentation and
closing.
- Create and present professional, effective, and profitable
customer proposals.
- Close sales and achieve company goals for revenue growth and
margin expectations.
- Stay informed of and work to maximize utilization of warehouse
facilities, personnel and trucking assets.
- Support marketing efforts to develop sales collateral and
presentation materials and advertise across multiple channels,
including company websites, tradeshows and conferences, industry
influencers, digital and social media.
- Implement systems to support sales management (CRM) and
establish customer metrics for reporting.
- Work effectively with internal and external resource teams to
ensure service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Stay informed of industry news and trends, and market
opportunities.
- Provide company leadership with direct input on 3PL growth
strategy and business development plans.
Minimum Position Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of direct sales experience,
preferably in 3PL warehousing services.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and experience
with consultative selling methods.
- Ability to develop a strong network of key manufacturers and
distributors in the territory.
- Ability to independently manage a sales pipeline of prospects
and multiple business development proposals.
- Computer skills with PC-based desktop applications, such as
Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel), email, and
web-based meeting and presentation applications, as well as
CRM.
- Exceptional candidates will have demonstrated success in sales
targeting, lead generation, sales promotion and marketing, direct
sales, pipeline and customer relationship management.
- Exceptional candidates will have work experience with
distribution solution design, pricing/ costing and proposal
development, presentation and negotiation, and sales training and
management. A bachelor's degree in logistics, business, or a
related field is preferred.
