the direction and supervision of the collection curators, the
Education Curator is responsible for coordinating and administering
dynamic, educational programs to reach a variety of audiences and
enhance the mission of UART both on campus and in the surrounding
community. This position will plan, implement, and manage
education/outreach activities for the University Art Galleries
(UART) at Texas A&M in College Station.Essential
Duties/TasksExhibit Management and Educational
Programming:Collaborates with staff to ensure that permanent and
temporary exhibits have age-appropriate, inquiry-based, interactive
elements to enhance the visitor experience in the Stark and Forsyth
Galleries. This role provides expert advice and directs the
implementation of educational exhibit components.Schedules group
tours, classes, and workshops for Texas A&M students and
faculty, local schools, and other organizations.Works closely with
University staff to create, administrate, and promote educational
and outreach programs to community groups.Develop a program
evaluation process to the assess the quality and impact of all
programs.Works with other departments at Texas A&M to ensure
educational access to students, faculty, and staff.Maintains all
program-related equipment, supplies and educational
materials.Assists in site marketing efforts by creating
advertisements, print materials, and website/social media posts to
promote programs and special events.Helps curators to write and
edit exhibit text and otherwise curate temporary exhibitions,
permanent exhibits, and signage for the University Art
Galleries.Other duties as assigned.Programming
Responsibilities:Develops and maintains positive relationships with
the community, including students and teachers, Bryan/College
Station community groups, donors and potential donors, and
colleagues in the field of arts education.Maintains necessary
documentation of program participation and demographic data as
needed for reporting requirements.Works with local media including
print, radio, and TV to actively promote participation in
educational programming.Train and supervise student employees for
relevant tasks.Maintain current knowledge of best practices in
museum education.Possesses basic knowledge about the TEKS - Texas
Essential Knowledge and Skills - state standards, in relation to
the UART.Administrative Responsibilities:Regularly reports program
activities and accomplishments to leadership.Works with Museum
Director and other staff to design, update, and implement
departmental policies and procedures.Assists in preparing the
annual budget for interpretive and educational initiatives and
programs and monitoring of related expenses.Attends staff and
programming meetings.What you need to knowSalary: $47,000

section.Required Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in
education, art history, museum studies, or closely related
field.Two years of work experience in at least two of the following
areas: (1) cultural resource interpretation at a historic site,
museum, or similar facility; (2) researching, developing, and
implementing public interpretive programs or events; (3) education
in the arts at a secondary school or art enrichment program (4)
demonstrated experience in outreach and/or community
engagement.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in art
education, art history, museum studies, community/public
development, or closely related field.Certification in interpretive
techniques from a nationally recognized institution.Bilingual
(English/Spanish)Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to
communicate effectively with others.Knowledge of Microsoft Office
software.Knowledge of photo editing software such as Photoshop or
Canva.Ability to learn and use institutional software.Ability to
multitask and work cooperatively with others.Other Requirements and
